We have been told that there is a 24 hour phone line on 179 which is "the Tourist Police" apparently they speak English.  This line should be used to report any incidents.  
Anyone heard if it's any use[?]

Yes, it begun in July 2009. Manned 24/7 during the season and limited hours in winter. Seems to have been proved a hit.

What is the number for the actual Police in Calis ? - I have never considered putting that number in my phone but really should.
