Diane and I caught the dolmus up to the top of Babadag today.  Amazing views.  The trip up the mountain was more frightening than coming down - which was a bit of a surprise.  Not sure I'd like the idea of running around on the sloping blockwork of the take-off slope like the men who assist the flyers do.  Glad we did it, but probably not one to be repeated in the near future.

Return fare was 20TL per person.  Going up it took about 40 minutes and the same coming down.  Facilities at the top are a oittle limited - basic toilets (a few flies!), Nescafe-type coffee and tea, and packets of crisps, cold drinks as well.  Times up are 10am, 12 noon, 2pm and 4pm.  Return times are 11am, 1pm, 3pm, 5pm.  We went up on the 2pm and returned on the 5 pm.

Photos?  New camera and not sure how to transfer photos to here.  Will try to put some up next week when back in England.  As for walking back down I think that is a definite non-starter.  I seem to remember a road sign just outside Hisaranou saying that it was 17kms to the top (presumably because of all the twists and turns).  The road is quite narrow.  When we came down we met 3 vehicles coming up and it was a little hairy to say the least when they passed!  Something which did amaze me was the way the road towards the top is actually block-paved.
