Our 2011 restaurant review

The following is based on marks given by Brenda, Martha and myself. As such they are influenced by our particular preferences. Others will have differing views.

Bella Mamas:
Best described by an another local operator as totally professional which is exactly what Calis needs.

Mozaic Bahce:
A very close second to Bella Mamas. We love the location, the ambience and Nichola and Dogun are delightful and charming hosts
Only criticism would be that the portions are too large. I am always embarrassed by the amount I leave.

Hamsi (Fethiye):
Marks may have been influenced by the fact that it was our anniversary. But notwithstanding that, very good. Nice setting, attentative staff (wine glass replace with chilled one when empty), very competitive prices (much cheaper than on the front) and a free plate of mixed fruit at the end of the meal. This may well have been the top marked by Martha wasn't with us so we averaged her mark.

Mangal:
Always the first and last place we visit when we are over because we like the people there. That having been said we do not like their "front man". He wouldn't readily interrupt Mrs H again when she is eating. Simple fayre, served quickly with a smile and reasonable prices.

Bostans:
Again marks may have been influenced. This time, by the fact that we were served by our good friend Billy. However, food was above average.

Chinese Breeze:
Everything was fine but lost marks because one main course didn't score well..

Brothers:
Not impressed I'm afraid. Very average food at the same, or slightly higher prices and took an age to come when not busy. In fact, at one point I thought I had gone back in time when the serving of meals was delayed until the glasses were empty and you were asked if you like another.

A mixture of European and Turkish Rob. I'm struggling with directions I am afraid other than it is at the mosque end of the harbour. We got off the dolmus walked down towards the harbour and just as we got to there turned right and it was the 3rd or 4th restaurant down. Will try and look on google earth for a more exact location unless someone knows the row of places I mean.
