My thoughts exactly Jacqui - even though the weather here in West Yorkshire is awful today, I'd rather be here than in the searing heat of Calis.  However, I know where I shall want to be when September comes around! :D

I remember my first visit to Turkey, many moons ago, (I was a teenager, so that shows how long ago it was !) I stayed in a budget hotel - with NO air conditioning (a mistake I will never make again !).  It was extremely hot, and the country was experiencing a real heat wave....I remember soaking beach towels in cold water, and lying in the middle of them !   one night I spent most of it in the shower myself.   Dreadful experience :0(

Got this pool in Carafor.
The kids are here and as we can see this is the best way to keep cool

The mains water here is sometimes below 10 degrees.

keith would you mind putting the two photos on.

I did try this with a couple of large bottles of water placed in front of my biggest fan - but the temperature soared when she couldn't see the telly  :o

Try putting your top sheets in the fridge for about an hour before bed have a cool shower and then pull the sheet over you.
