« on: October 23, 2011, 09:40:03 AM »
hi

we are staying at letoonia on the outskirts and trying to find cheapest travel arrangements to anywhere especially calis.

Taxi is 40lira for the return to fethiye.

Does the dolmus stop nearby or not. Was hoping to visit more often and go to hisarouno and oluz deniz but need some scost advice.

Thanks for urgent replies.

Hi Kerry I am not totally sure where the Club Letoonia is, but without a doubt the dolmus will be your cheapest way to get around 1.5 lira per person, they come along really often and have the signs in the window of where they are going.hope this helps you a little :)

I have stayed at the Letoonia.  It's right opposite Fethiye.  Letoonia have a water taxi to take people over to Fethiye. it used to be free but they charge for it now.  There is a dolmus stop right outside the camp gates to take you into Fethiye.  If you go into Fethiye you can go to the Dolmus terminus and get one to Hisaronu/Olu Deniz/Saklikent etc.,   They do sell trips to various locations at Letoonia but doing it yourself will work out cheaper.  We took a trip from Letoonia to Tlos/Yaka Park/Saklikent and it was very good.

there is a set of gates just outside of reception is that the gates that whwre we can get the dolmus - it looks like a private road?
prefer the dolmus to be honest as it will limit ut if we have to take taxis

Walk out of the gates and pass the taxis the Dolmus stop is just down the road, you will see the staff from Letoonia hoping on and off the dolmus.  If you ask in reception they will tell you. It might be worth getting the water taxi from Letoonia as it's a lovely trip and probably cheaper than a taxi.  When we where there we got the water taxi out every day to go over to Fethiye and Calis.

The water taxi from Letoonia to Fethiye is now charged at 10 tl per person, so for a family of 4 no cheaper than a taxi

We drove along the road towards Letoonia in September just passed the shipyards and there was a Dolmus in front of us that went on up the road.  It will not stop exactly outside Letoonia but it will go as far so it's not far to walk.
I have to say this is the trouble with AI places they are so isolated they just want to keep you in.  It's not that far if it's a nice day to walk outside and down the road.  Look for the big blue "D" for Dolmus stop.
If you don't want to do  that, get the water taxi on a one off experience for the kids and when in Fethiye go to the Dolmus Terminus and ask for "Letoonia".

The orange coloured dolmus goes to and from Letoonia approximately every 30 mins on weekdays. Not sure about weekends, but think it is every hour.
