After an operation or an injury and the vet needs to close a wound they use it to bring the skin together.  Like a sewing thread. Hope that helps  ;D

as i work at a GP surgery here in Uk i might be able to get some sent over, will it matter if they are out of date ? as we oftenly have some that are and we have to throw them away  :(

In the original posts that went out on FB apparently it says it does not matter if they are out of date.

the date is not important, as they get older the suture becomes brittle and snaps, so as long as it stays flexible it's no problem  :)
