I have been looking at Uswitch to reduce our fuel bills, after much searching found the majority of the Khw are nearly the same, however, it was the standing charge that surprised me more than the fuel cost, with our current supplier we pay approximately £225 per year standing charge for gas and electric, if we switch to another then it will be £115 for both gas and electric combined.
More interestingly I started to read a little further regarding the government directives etc, all the interesting bits we usually skip past. I am now sorting through our elderly neighbours bill as I have found that certain utility companies offer a further reduction of £130 per year, this is aimed mainly at those who need it. This is good news for our neighbour, not only will she get her Winter Fuel allowance of £400 (because she is over 80) but a £130 on top.
