We went along this stretch of road between Kalkan and Kas a few years back. Fortunately it had been modernized (i.e. tarmacked) by then. The journey is 35 minutes by car or 25 minutes if you take the Dolmus Express. That was quite hair-raising enough even tough it wasn't a stony track.

Yes but only a very narrow strip! Actually before the first skirmish in the late 60's and the Invasion of Northern Cyrpus
from Turkey Famagusta was the only real resort with Hotels etc. There were a few Hotels at Kyrenia and of course at Limmasol but nothing else! And my first "holiday" to Menorca was in a Vickers Viscount and we had to go round twice to land at San Luis! Ahh those heady days on deserted beaches, just me, Mark Anthony, Cleo ..........................

Seriously, please all who can travel out of Calis/Fethiye and see Turkey, it is a lovely place and
the people make you so welcome! I wish I had the funds and the time, I would spend a year driving round Turkey! It used to take so long in the old days, just a few slaves to pull the cart
