« on: February 05, 2013, 14:09:30 PM »
As part of the  Fetav Festival which will  take place from 17 -24 May,  the 3C's are planning to hold a chill out Beach party and BBQ with live entertainment.  The proposed date is Tuesday 21 May and the proposed venue is Guven's Beach Bar close by the dolmus station in Koca Calis.  More details of the event will be confirmed in the next few weeks as will full details of the Fetav Fest which promises to be a great week.  Make sure you put this date and week of events in your diary or on your calendar.

Hi Gordon, Pete spoke to Mete Ay tonight who is Chairman of the Calis Association and organiser of the Carnival for the last two years, to find out if this years carnival is going ahead.  At the moment a decision has still not been taken by his association but as soon as we know for certain one way or the other we will post this info on the forum.

In the meantime we attended a planning meeting of the Fetav Fest today which takes place from 17-24 May and this is going full steam ahead. There is a weeklong programme of events planned, mostly taking place  in Fethiye and Calis but there will also be events in Uzumlu,  Kemer and Olu Deniz.  As well as the launch party event in Calis and the proposed big free concert in Fethiye Square at the end of the week, all of the local charities have been asked to organise an event during the week.  A full programme of events will be published over the next few weeks as plans are finalised.

The 3C's have opted to hold a beach party and bbq on 21 May as their contributuion to the  festivities, but in addition to this we will also be holding our annual street craft fair and market on Sunday 26 May as well as our annual charity promises auction which will be held shortly after  this (date to be confirmed next week) so there are lots of things going on whilst you are out here to keep you occupied   :)

A couple of people asked me tonight about the programme for the Fetav Fest and what is actually planned.  Just to clarify, this Festival which will definitely happen, is still in the very early stages of planning and full details of the events and the actual programme have not yet been agreed and finalised, as yesterday's  was a preliminary meeting to ascertain what the different charities might be putting on on the different days. A further meeting to discuss these proposed events and finalise details, takes place later this month, when the  main organiser and the honorary British Consul will be present.

Whatever the final programme is, it will be a good week   :)
