No Calis Carnival but.............
« on: May 08, 2013, 06:46:29 AM »
The Calis Association have confirmed in the press (Land of Lights) this week that there will be no annual festival in Calis this year.  Instead they will be organising various festivities throughout the season.

Mete Ay, Chairman of the Association has made the following announcement to the press

"Starting with the first week of June, Calis will enter a lively period with many events and activities.  The Turkish Beach Volleyball Championship which was held for the first time last year will take place on 7,8 and 9 June as part of te Turkish Volleyball Federation.  Furtherrmore we intend to develop the concept of the Calis Festival with activities organised throughout the season. To this end we are planning various activities such as sunset concerts between 1 and 7 June, water sports, beach football, street parties and painting competitions.  We anticipate there more than 50 stands will be set up during these activities".

He goes on to say that they will organise similar activities through the season

Great news.  I'll look forward to attending some of it as I miss all the 3C's events this year
