A Real Holiday Near Miss

As you may have read we went to Morocco this year and very good it was too. But we had initially decided on somewhere else - in fact we stood in the Thomson shop, brochure open at the hotel page of choice and hand heading for credit card to pay the deposit when I for a reason I still can't explain I stopped and said I'd pop back the next day as I just wanted 24 hours to be sure.

Now the hotel was where we went on what I recall was our last holiday before becoming proud parents - and it was absolutely fabulous in every way. Had we stuck with plan A and booked it, we'd have been there precisely when this story (which I only learned of today) actually happened:

Bet your glad you missed that one! We are going to morocco for the first time next year staying I agadir, a bit apprehensive as not been there before and hear mixed reviews, glad to read that you enjoyed it

I thought it was superb - Marrakesh was a bit full on even for this hassle hardened tourist but the people are very similar to the Turks - charming, witty, helpful etc. We found it very bland between the main towns but a real experience, and that is what all these places should be ideally. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Intuition, is what i would call it, always go with what you feel, it has saved many peoples lives sticking to what they have bad feelings about.

Sixth sense or something! I recall reading about this story and feeling for those poor souls; what a disaster for them. I only hope they were compensated. Of course, if it was the other way round us 'Brits' would have been endlessly bashed by the media and quite possibly targeted in resorts around the world! (As we are from time to time as a result of one or several of our lesser citizens disgracing the nation). Obviously the Dominicans can't hold their booze! But I wonder if it was a set up since that country can least afford to jeopardise it's tourist industry.
