All done £240 including the new filter and fuel, done exactly as supacabby says a local reputable small garage.car running better than ever, like **** off a stick.thinking of having it chipped/remapped can get it done for £150 and will give 10 or 15% efficiency on fuel and increase mid range acceleration and top end speed .

I used to do them at the roadside but this is no longer allowed due to the spillage & disposal rules, takes a bout an hour or 2 at most.

The AA have a fleet of over 100 vans specifically for this and they do it at the roadside where necessary. They reckon that there are over 200,000 instances of misfuelling in the UK every year.

Sorry KKOB, I should have said that the "independant" recovery operators are no longer allowed to do it at the roadside. The AA & RAC will normally take the vehicle to a place of safety where they can do the job & the customer can wait in the warm/dry etc. The water course pollutant was the main worry for draining fuel at the roadside, lots of cowboys were simply pouring the contaminated fuel down the nearest drain! The AA/RAC vans are now kitted out with a sealed container to stop this happening.

Again beware of the cowboys, lots of false promises out there. I've had a few diesels remapped, always much better for the experience, both in mpg & driveability.
