Really sorry to hear this hope the two ladies are ok after their horrible ordeals...
These low life scum need catching as I for one would not want to any where near the place at the mo, :( livelihoods will suffer as why would people want to go on holiday to a place where this is going on it is disgraceful and like the other member said in broad daylight too, plenty of other places to holiday...

Is it legal to carry mace or pepper spray here?  If I had my way these scum would be wearing their 'cojones' as earrings!!!

It's very worrying to see this. Years ago Turkey was so safe...that's why I holiday on my own. Am coming over in a couple of weeks and this makes me nervous :( I hope the ladies who were involved are okay and this spate of muggings stops

This is terrible.  I used to do a lot of walking and often walked up from near the Pelin to Orange Park and usually alone.  During the winter, when it was dark,  I used to walk from the Dolphin roundabout to my house near the Tugay and never once was I afraid.  Changed days and  although I no longer live there, when I was over on holiday for three weeks,  felt there was a bit of a change of atmosphere which I couldn't put my finger on.  Sadly things are changing and along with some old friends moving away, things are not as good as they used to be.  I hope those people who have been robbed will recover but I have no doubt that they will be left with some degree of fear.

when I used to read posts similar to those above I always felt sorry for the people involved but never thought it could happen in my area....Foca.......as felt so safe and secure here.Unfortunately crime has reached here too bringing with it a sense of uneasiness and even fear.Never get complacent or think 'it wont happen to me.....not in my area'because it can and it will. Please be vigilant out there and stay safe.

Good news, the Polis caught the b*****ds.  They was operating in a gang of six and the Polis have caught 4 of them, and are confident of catching the other two as they have cleared out of town and are expected to be caught in some other tourist resort.  Still waiting to hear what the sentence they received by the court, but hoping for something very severe.

The Polis were marvelous, and encourage people to report problems to them and perhaps more importantly follow it up when it comes to ID parades and statements etc.
