I have always found North Cyprus to be much more Greek than Turkish.

I thought it was quite British - in a sort of 1960s colonial kind of way. People talking Turkish (except out at the end of panhandle) but driving on the left and posting letters in familiar pillar boxes stamped E. R. (but painted PTT yellow). Restaurants with white linen tablecloths and waiters in white shirts with bow ties standing to attention when you walked in and looking as though they were waiting for the Colonel and his lady wife to return at last.
