[Difficult to know where to post this since it concerns everywhere on the planet - including Calis. So it doesn't fit in "All things nothing to do with the Turkey" section, or anywhere else really.]
One second will be added to the length of the day at Midnight on 30 June 2015. Everywhere on Earth. This is because the world is slowing down in its spin and, every now and again, we have stop for a second to let the Earth up. The Telegraph says the decision comes from "French Time Lords" but, before we start an argument about the French or overweening EU meglomania, I should point out that the US was against this (because it messes up computer timing systems - allegedly) but the UK insisted on it (otherwise GMT would be messed up*). So we are getting an extra (leap) second. I hope to be in Turkey to enjoy it. What will you do with it?
[* GMT is measured against when the sun is directly overhead at noon at the Greenwich Observatory - and not one second before the sun is overhead! Take that Yanks!]
