The Challenge Cup Final
« on: August 29, 2015, 22:39:39 PM »
A truly magnificent sporting occasion that football would do very well to emulate.

From the superbly courageous rendition of Abide With Me by Lizzie Jones

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/rugby-league/34086760  (you will need to scroll down a bit)

To Leeds captain Kevin Sinfield show of true sportsmanship after lifting the Challenge Cup for the second successive year by admitting that his first thoughts were for beaten Hull KR.

Wonderful stuff   :)

Which is why we like to refer to it as 'The greatest game'    ;)

Unfortunately not the best match to advertise the sport but a trip to Wembley for the Challenge Cup is always a great day out and Leeds really are the form team at the moment and would have beaten most sides in the competition.

As for Lizzie Jones, always an emotional part of the day for many people, me included, but today was particularly poignant. A magnificent performance by her under those circumstances.

The match was not close score wise which is a pity but the way both teams conducted themselves made up for that for me.

And something you will always see at a RL match H. You don't see many drama queens (players or coaches)!    ;)

The Best game in the world to watch by far. There is excitement from start to finish. I get bored watching football as good exciting games are few and far between. Another point to consider is, can you imagine home and away fans standing shoulder to shoulder at a football match? This is a norm in Rugby League and never a blip of trouble, just lots of old fashioned banter and a handshake at the end.   ;)
