December Cothing
« on: October 03, 2015, 15:04:32 PM »
Coming to Calis in Winter, planning early December through to January, possibly to April, very conflicting messages I have had about the weather etc.  I am going back to UK tomorrow and the lovely people at Rebin Beach Hotel have kindly agreed to hold a suitcase for me until our return so we were thinking of what we can leave here clothes wise.

So, any advice on clothing and weather in Calis particularly in December would be very welcome. For example would I be wise to leave some shorts behind or will I never get to wear them? Is it too cold for lightweight trousers etc. Is it ever T shirt days?

Probably posted this in the wrong section, wasnt sure.

Whilst I have seen some peeps wearing shorts & tshirts occassionally, your best best will be to have clothing that can be layered. That way you can take off a layer or two when it gets warmer or add them back when it's colder. Most find that as soon as the sun goes down, it feels like the temperature drops 10 degrees + .

You definitely need shorts for the daytime, but you also definitely need trousers a fleece or 2 for the nights.

Think very good advise to have clothes you can layer. It can be glorious weather in the day time, then when the sun goes, which will be around 15.30 in the winter, the temperature drops considerably. Some Decembers/January's can be OK, other years, lots of rain. So I would say to leave shorts, but really, light weight trousers better. Jeans good also for the evenings and for bad weather days. You can buy fleeces etc here of course. And yes, hopefully t shirt days! But always take a fleece/sweater out with you at that time of year!
