Selling a scooter
« on: August 22, 2016, 21:09:24 PM »
Not sure where to post this but does anyone know if it is possible to sell a scooter when we are out of the country? We have residency and a solicitor has power of attorney to sell our property.

When selling a scooter you need to be here as there is paperwork to be done at the notary. So you either have to give POA to someone to act on your behalf or sell it whilst here.Of course you can sell with out doing anything it but if anything happens and its still under your name then your are responsible for every thing and it can get a bit tricky if you intend to come back here.

Thanks for that information. Just as a matter of interest what happens if your residency runs out so you cannot sell?

Hi Legless the problem is that we are not in Turkey at the moment and are going to have to set up the power of attorney with our solicitor. When we do this I will let you know if you are still interested (The scooter is a Yamaha 125 registered 2006)

I do not think the residency running is a problem as normally that's only required if buying not selling, but I would bring the old one just incase.
