About 12 weeks now...

...as in the header, will soon be returning to Calis; first arrival 1996 a year after our first trip to Turkey in Side but have been returning Calis fans ever since. Any new developments or major refurbs? Would be very happy to see the same faces in the Gunisik and Bambu: we'd also be happy to see new developments on the prom and the main street. Any news or piccies?

Just had a welcoming text from Senay & Nuran [ 2 great hosts in our opinion  ]  will be again at the GUNISIK for this season, 15 years I think being there , something to look forward to as we wait for the next 6 weeks to fly by till we arrive on June 1ST, we did not think they were coming back to host there this year so good news.

oh And the promise of better house wine this season    taste will tell   .

Are there any other changes / non changes that anyone has noticed ?

Well the ex proprietor of Eyna cafe who then moved to The Lighthouse has now gone from there too and it is under new ownership. The pide's are just as nice as they ever were though. We tested them today  


Also the restaurant on Śovalye island may soon have a change of ownership or possibly close from its current location I heard today. The Belediye have rescinded their remaining 5 year lease over there. Real shame. Hope they are able to continue the restaurant perhaps at their hotel over there.

The new staff in the Lighthouse,the young lady,Delara and the not quite so young ex Denizati waiter Ozcan.
 One of the few places that stayed open all winter,their Lighthouse Special Pide is well worth a try and their coffee, I think,is the best in Calis
