Hi Lisa and Terry and Welcome to the forum,My advice is to research and speak to as many people as possible for recommendations, but still remember that everyone has different opinions and views of what they want.It is difficult not being out there so you do need a reputable business looking after your interest .We were lucky that we met people who had done this already and talked through with them beforehand.Unfortunately We did not find this site earlier as it too is full off invaluable information.I am sure that this will be your year.

Hope everything goes well with your search

David and Jill

Every waiter, barman, barber, boatman in Turkey, will try and sell you a house, or thier brother-in-law,will,but would you buy a house from these people in England.
Well use a good estate agent there.

Thanks to you all for your very helpful replies. From looking at the many forums it seems we have to do much more homework and not just rely on the word of a friend of a friend!
What a minefield - very scary when you start reading the hiccups some of you have had.
We are quite pleased now that the person we were trying to contact hasn't been in touch!!
Thanks again!

Wellcome lisa and john, we bought last year from PHILIP CLARK PROPERTIES, mainly because they have an office in england and fethiye so you can keep up with the progress of how things are going, excellant service from start to finish. Also this web site is a mine of information we found all we wanted to know about living in turkey.        Good luck with your property.
