Eldest son takes me and wife to Watford station.
Buy train tickets ,but we are not alllowed through barriers until everyone has gone through exiting train from London .

Now train running late ,trying to cool down ,can't smoke on platform now or train ,young lads and girls getting beered up giving it large on platform.
trying to keep blood pressure low.
Train journey not too bad ,arrive Euston.Go to nearest pub !
Wife says she need to eat ,so find restraurant,but food not be ready till 7 o'clock (now 6.30)
Need to be at Albert Hall by 19.30
Back to Euston station for (oh no) Burger King !

Go to Victoria line think alight Green Park and then get Joe Baxi.
On the exit from green Park ask ticket collecter where is nearest pub.
No pubs near here mate is reply( but at least I can have a Fag outside !:D.
Taxi drops someone off and I think lets get in and on our way ,right mate nearest pub to the Albert Hall !!
£4.50 and the one way system later we are outside Green park again .

Turn up with paperwork from net that we booked & paid through, then asked have I got credit card that I paid with - I don't know what F-----g card I paid with!! Finally got tickets, find bar. Get drink (£3.90 bottle downstairs served in plastic cup, wife orders gin/tonic to be told no gin at this bar go upstairs! Forget that, get beer and go to outside where people are smoking and get last fag in before concert starts.
Then told can't take drink outside!!! Give me strength!! Leave it inside (where it can get nicked, spiked or anything) least we get smoke in.
Find our box and also upstairs bar where managed to get gin/tonic and bottle beer. See supporting act, Candi Staton (not the best). Now awaiting Al Green so decide to get another drink. NO PROBLEM!
Al Green pretty good, but keeps holding mike to audience for them to sing. Fo God's sake, we paid £100 thinking we'd hear him!!
Figure maybe I have one more beer before he finishes, so leave box and the door shuts behind me. Bar closed!
Head back to box and can't get in!! No sign on the usher so have to bang on door and finally get back in time for wife to tell me he's finished!
Leave Albert Hall, spark up just as bus comes and leap on it to get dropped back at pub at Euston.
Finally some sanity, can have a drink and smoke outside!! Enjoying it so much that we then had to leg it to catch train.
On train ring eldest son who asks "have i really got to pick you up".
He finally agreed and we got to Watford only to have to wait for him cos he stuck in traffic!!
Finally got home and opened Efes and wondered if it was all bloody worth it!
