Why I love Letoon (and Turkey)
« on: June 28, 2009, 20:41:22 PM »

Brenda and I didn't stay at Letoon this time but dropped in one night for a light refreshment.

Shortly after we arrived a member of the staff took Brenda aside saying that he wanted to talk to her privately.

What he wanted to know was how I was after hearing that I had been in hospital and told Brenda that everyone at the hotel had been very worried about my health. He hadn't wanted to ask me in case I did have some sort of medical problem

Now I don't know if staff at a hotel in Spain or Greece that we had stayed at for 10 years running would have showed the same concern. What I do know is that I was very touch by his and others at Letoon's concern for my health.

I have posted on here before how much I thought that Nevra meant to Letoon, but I now realize that, whilst this is true, that it was disingenuous to other members of the wonderful staff there.

So thanks for caring guys, I really do appreciate it.

Missed you H! Sorry but we didn't get to Calis much. Tended to stay around Koca Calis and Ciftlik (had a couple of real nice pides there). Managed Guven's twice (try their Ottoman Pan or Turkish Stew), Cassa De Mamas once and The Lighthouse once (nice meal as well). 4 times eating in Calis out of 14 nights is our record low so far. It would have been even less had we got the gas barbecue sooner. It's not that we don't like it just that other things pulled us away this time.

Maybe next time?

Are you sure they weren't chasing up a hesap from a previous stay H?

That's harsh Scunner, but may very well be accurate. The staff member in question obviously knows that Brenda has more money than I have :)
