Cost is dependant on what speed you want so roughly between 30 and 70 TL a month, you need to have residency or a Turkish friend ;)

If you are not a permanent resident or not likely to be using the internet all the year - consider getting a plug-in 'dongle' for your computer. This will give you mobile access to the internet.

There are very reasonable packages available which include the 'dongle' and 3 months usage, then I think you can top it up monthly as required. It should work out considerably cheaper than a permanent connection for periods of a few months, and less complicated to set up.

I went to the Vodafone shop in Fethiye and they were very helpful. I plan to get one myself.

Forgetting the residency requirement for the moment, you need a telephone connection first.7days after that is connected you return to Turk Telecom and complete another similar contract for the ADSL connection. However,if your apartment is new and there are no existing connections you may find they will  not connect unless there are between 20 to 50 lines needed. If its an old building/apartment etc it may be quite easy.Go and talk to them, but you will need a telephone number from the nearest home that is already connected for them to find where you are. There are a few english speakers in their office, but its still easier if you take a turkish friend.good luck

I took a very handsome Turkish friend - the girl in the office batted her eyelashes - was relieved to findout we were just friends and in a bid to be helpful took his phone number so she could keep him updated with the progres -  result - had the phone connected wihin 24 hours and the internet within 48 hours.
