I can not believe that the sentence of two murderers given 3 and half and 4 and a half years respectively, for killing a grand father in front of his grandchild, and the AG thinks there are no grounds for an appeal on the length sentence, is this what the UK has come to?

Oh dont get me started on this Steve, I have no faith in the justice system whatsoever. I think Ive mentioned before on another thread ages ago, but my previous partner was beaten to death/murdered, its a long story but basically he was out for the night, got into a 'altercation' (as the police called it) he called me to tell me who he had had trouble off (the other bloke was a known trouble maker, been in prison etc etc) then the next call I get was from the police asking me to come to A&E, long and the short of it was he was in hospital for 6 days and died from swelling to the brain, had he lived he would of been blind, severly disabled (mentally & physically) I told the police my partners exact words of who it was, they got him, arrested him, finally got to court, the murder charge was dropped by the CPS (lack of evidence?! someone had died thats enough evidence), he pleaded guilty to manslaughter. Because he pleaded guilty he was seen in a 'better' light by the judge so he got 3 years, had served 10 months on remand, and he only then served another 8 months! 18 months for killing someone! This was 4 years ago now, and low and behold hes back in prison because he brutally attacked and raped a 17 year old girl. I wonder if the justice system will now look at him as a danger and lock him up for good. I doubt it. They need to open their eyes and hand out appropriate sentences.

It is incomprehensible what people must be like to approach a complete stranger and do that - but to do it to someone standing at night in charge of a small child is just subhuman.
