Yes, it is interesting - just like suitcase weight - we have been told on numerous occasions that our cases were heavier coming back when we haven't bought anything and have left suncreams etc behind - amazing isn't it?
I find the whole packing business stressful - where to put electricals, weight, dimensions etc -

We are traveling BMI Baby next month to Faro. I'll make sure I measure our hand luggage exactly before we travel as we are going for the maximum allowed due to weight restrictions.

We paid extra to get 18kg each in the hold but they also offer 10kg free hand luggage. I guess the wife will manage with 56kg in total ;-)

It was featured on Watchdog last night and at least 60 of these wrongly size gauges have been in Airports. BMI are now promising to change them all and give people who have been overcharged a refund, however, people claiming a refund will have to have "proof"  So if they have not kept documentation they will be unlucky.

More than that Jacqui - having the documentation proving you were charged doesn't prove you were wrongly charged, you would need to have the documentation and be able to show the bag incorrectly charged for - and prove that was the bag you had at the time. How on Earth could anyone prove that?

Funny how the gauges were all correct at check in and ALL the incorrect ones were at the gates - where people who managed to avoid paying for any luggage charges when booking would first head. It appears that these people were directly targeted to make money out of.

BMI apologised for their "error". In these days of grams and microns there is no way they received the wrong size, I am sure they received exactly the gauges they ordered. This isn't a mistake - it is a well thought out deception.
