Great site Mike thanks for sharing it.  We have been lucky enough to be able to see the Northern Lights from our own back garden, it's breathtaking.

I am ashamed to say that on the occasions the Northern Lights have been visable over our place my neighbour (about 1/3 mile away) has rung me to tell me to look outside.  We live on Farm land so we can see in any direction for 30 miles and our view is fabulous.
I still cried though, when I watched Joanna Lumley's programme where she saw the lights for the first time, it was one of the best pieces of television I have ever seen, when my neighbour came over for coffee I showed her the clip and she cried too.
If you have never seen it go and look on youtube.  This is one of the many reference to it
