When my boys were younger we had a discussion at the dinner table and the subject got around to my brother who has 7 children. My youngest son said  "doesn't Uncle John know about condoms, there are 3 in a box so he can do it 3 times for a pound"  We had to laugh. Children are so funny

Regarding sexuality and television. Sometimes we underestimate our childrens intelegence. They understand lots of things, and are much more accepting of people.

I agree Heather - however I am with Scunner - I wanted the choice in when to discuss such issues not be forced to discuss them because they were on TV before the watershed. The watershed still exists but the change is regarding what is appropriate for prewatershed- it seems to be getting closer to the knuckle.

Yes I agree with you there. My children have grown up now and I never watch any of the soaps but my grandchildren watch with their parents. I think there is too much on the telly that shows attitude and no respect for others. You see young people on the soaps telling their elders, including parents to get a life. I know what would have happend to me if I had said that or similar to my parents.

Part of the point of my initial story was also to point out that you as a parent may pussyfoot around wondering when and how best to tackle these sensitive issues and bring them to your kid's attention, while missing completely the fact that they have known for months but didn't think it important enough to even mention.
