Does anyone know how to cure an intermittent Sky signal. Damn thing keeps stopping every ten seconds or so.

So annoying - almost unwatchable.

PS Happening on Sky Sports 2 - Manchester Derby

Unplug it
Plug it in after 10 seconds

A few possibilities -
Have you more than 1 cable coming from Sat dish, maybe one has water ingress.

Your LNB is Knackered. (thats the gizzmo pointing at your Sat dish) worth checking which channels are bad as LNB send 2 signals one may be OK and other causing problem.

Your reciever is ready for the scrap yard.

ThanBks Jim - only one cable coming from dish.

Not sure about the LNB. By receiver do you mean dish or box. Both are not that old if I remember.

you can force it into a software down load dis connect the receiver from the mains push the back up button whilst reapplying the mains as soon as all the light light up on the receiver take your finger of the back up button it should say on screen somthing like software down load do not unplug mains could take 10 min when it is done it will reboot and go into standy by when it does leave for about 15 seconds before turning on by remote

another thing you can try go to picture settings push 01 select this will take you into the engineers menu go down to new installation and do a search it been about 4/5 years since idone one and that was Keiths over here so cannot remember the on screen display
