Very sad, I am sure there should be some rules about taking non swimmers particularly if they are over 65 years of age. It would seem a real risk, but obviously, nothing seems to happen to these companies when accidents happen.

Looks like white water rafting on Dalaman River has now been banned. There's an article in this week's LOL that due to the new dam, it'll not be allowed as of 30th March

If that is true (and appearing in LOL is no proof of that) then it is ridiculous. As Jacqui says, the age of tourists - not just the older ones, young kids have died recently too - needs to be strictly controlled. To ban it denies a huge number of people the chance to experience it. I do get the impression though that this is being sold perhaps as a scary but safe experience, similar to a rollercoaster ride, whereas in reality it could be a high risk excursion where lives are on the line. There needs to be a competent risk assesment - if it is scary but safe then great, if it is a risk to human life then it has to go.

We used to holiday with Tapestry ,mainly because they were off the beaten track etc , They would sell this trip as a white knuckle ride but did stress that it isnt a trip for amateurs, needless to say I didnt do !
All tour companies should sell this just for experienced people to do
