During my recent holiday visit I bought a Turkcell phone for cheap internal/local calls. The salesman in the shop told me I could purchase a tariff that would give me cheap calls to England. Is this correct. What do most of you do who are out there for long periods  of the time. Also do you know what sort of cost it is to buy a dongle and the tariff from Turkcell for receiving internet.

Thanks Mike

Mike you don't need to ask every question in the property owners forum - there is a section for most things, including phones.

Yes I did think about that. I have just read a lot of info which answers my question under the phones section. Thanks Scunner.

It's no problem Mike, it's just that the specific sections are better for getting more replies to your questions.

Skype Mike - 1p a minute to Uk landlines or free skype to skype.    You can get text bundles - I currently pay 9 lira a month and get 10,000 text messages to other turkcell users.  If you are having a landline Turk Telecom are chucking in some free minutes at the moment too  :-)

You can also get a annual contract from skype so that you can dial any fixed line but I now just keep 5 pounds on account that way I can call any phone around the world cheaply.

Is the divert free or do you then pay for the call transfer? If so any idea how much?
