Driving from dalaman

Even though we have visited Calis for a number of years now never once have I hired a car on arrival at the airport......until now....

I can't for the life of me figure out what signs/landmarks to look out for to get from the airport onto the main road towards Fethiye. I've tried a forum search but couldn't find anything.

It's probably quite easy but any help would be welcome as by the time I have jumped on board a transfer coach previously, looking at the directions he took were the last thing on my mind

Follow the dual carriageway from the airport and go through the first set of traffic lights/roundabout, still following the dual carriageway. At next (major) traffic set of lights/roundabout turn right and you are now on the road that takes you through to Fethiye and Antalya.
There is a short cut but it is not a main road and could be easily missed unless you are very familiar with the road.
It's really easy....

Look for the Total petrol station on the dual carriageway, the right turning to Fethiye is shortly afterwards & is signposted, beware the surface on that side road has to be one of the worst in Turkey!

Don't try the short-cut on your first run. Just follow the road out of Dalaman until you reach a big junction and then turn right to follow the D400 to Fethiye and Antalya.

It is right, and we have hired a car from the Airport and taken the short cut in the past after watching where the taxi had taken us.  Always know we are on the right road when we see the green and yellow mosque.  However, first time it's best to go up to the main road and turn right.
