I prefer the version by Gerard Hoffnung from his Oxford Union address in 1958. He intoduces it like this:

I've got this thing here that I must read to you.
Now, this is a very tragic thing... I shouldn't, really, read it out.

It begins "Respected Sir" but this missing from the audio.
