Does anyone have any recommendations for good websites to use to book cheap hotels in the UK? I would be most grateful for any advice.

Definitely bookings.com, but also have a look at Travellodge if it's in the near future, as they have some good offers on.

Also try Sletoh - they will get you prices from booking.com - hotels.com - expedia - laterooms and quite a few more, then list what each one is charging for the same room in the same hotel on the same dates. It can be very surprising how different the prices are: www.sletoh.com
