Good to have your support UBT and Marggie thanks for relaying your story about 179. Someone rang me today for advice about a similar problem they are having in their area and I shall ring them back tomorrow and suggest they try there as their first port of call. The great thing with ALO 179 is it is free!

Signed  :)   And as I said when I signed it, we have tried to learn Turkish but I am sure that in an emergency, the Turkish that we know will probably leave us in panic.  Plus, how many times have you said something in Turkish and it hasn't been understood!  Yes I know some people's Turkish is abyssmal, and I am not saying mine is good at all.  But even simple Turkish, well pronounced, is often not understood.  This petition could save lives.

I'm not sure whether it's allowed to post this here (don't want to spam the forum) so if it isn't not, please delete it   :)

My husband is a G.P. in Ovacik and has his own surgery.
We have set up a registration system where people can register with us.
You'll get a fridge magnet with contact details and an unique number that will be linked to your address.
In case of an emergency, you will only need to say your registration number and we'll know where to find you.
The doctor will come to your house asap and we'll also make sure that an ambulance will reach your house.
The registration is free of charge and there are no strings attached.

Since we are located in Ovacik, the system only applies to Ovacik, Hisaronu, Kaya, Tasyaka and Deliktas.
Beyond there is too far and will take too much time to reach.

edit: forgot to mention that my husband speaks good English  :P

It doesn't look like spam to me but maybe it deserves its own topic Dutchie.

I think it may get more attention that way   :)

Sound like an excellent idea to me and I am sure people will be interested...

Hi Everyone,

I am really pleased to announce that we now have well over 2,000 signatures and the petition is being sent to Ankara next week.  I would like to thank everyone who signed the petition and will post any news about its effect as and when we hear anything!

Many thanks,

janie
