Hello all.
Hopefully we will have a good Holiday starting the 6th Sept at Olu Deniz. It will be the 5th time for me and the 1st time for Louise to Turkey. I first came way back in 1991 to the Mutlu Hotel at Calis and loved the small front that you had back then. I also loved the welcome we got at a time when not many British people came out to Turkey (Yes, it's my fault you now get so many). The only reason my friends and I came to Calis was due to the Yugo civil war starting the day before I was due to fly to Dubrovnik. The only place that we was offered was of course Calis in Turkey.
Well, what a great time we had. So much so that I came back (but to Bodrum) in 1994,1996, and Marmaris in 1997. Way back in 1991, I can remember the old market and I was talking to a Hamish Mcturk who had his leg up on a stool due to a football accident (I think). I take it this is one of the (in)famous Hamish McTurk's who now run the tours in the area?
Also remembered is a Scottish bar (in Fethiye) that a nice lady called Marion ran and for a first time in my life I had Haggis for dinner. Is the Scottish bar still around?
One night in Fethiye, we got kidnapped in a bar near the harbour front that had a Man Mountain of a bouncer on the door. we tried to escape, but the booze kept being poured down our throats and food until it must of been about 4am and they paid for a taxi cab back to the Mutlu hotel. My bad singing must of scared him and his merry gang!

One last thing. It's a bit sad to see all the homes where we used to walk behind Calis in open fields and wild tortoise's. Still, that's progress for you!
Best regards and hope to join in some of the discussions soon!
