shot dog in Ovacik
« on: October 04, 2012, 16:45:16 PM »
Will this ever end...  >:(

We now have a seriously injured dog at Serkans, it is a spaniel type dog and has been shot! it has been given a pain killer, anti biotics, for the night and more tests and medication tomorrow, if the medication does not work there is a possibility of amputation of the leg.

This dog was found in Ovacik. sometimes I hate this job.... :(

Hope whoever did this gets shot themselves and not in the leg, but between the legs.

This is the dog that was shot in Ovacik  near the Yakamoz Hotel yesterday, it has a badly damaged shoulder and as a result may well lose one of its legs >:(

Does anyone recognise the dog?

He has setgtled well with the girls, is still reclining on his cushion, no barking so far, looks very contented and just eaten his dinner.  Think he,s well got his legs under the table, so sweet!!!!

Patrick, is now at Serkan vets having a front leg removed :( >:(, he has been in good spirits in going for walks and eating and sleeping where he likes  :) so he should be fine after the op  :) he will stay at Serkans for up to 5 days, then he will need a carer or permanent home

We now know the name and workplace of the cretin that shot him and this has been passed on to the right people >:(

Thanks for the update Tinkerman.  What a stoic boy Patrick is - wishing him a speedy recovery.
Great that you've identified the a*****e,  hope he gets his just desserts.

:D more good news! Serkan thinks he can save the leg :D he did major surgery on the shattered shoulder and noticed the leg was responding to touching the nerves, early days yet but it will take a few months and will probably end up with one leg slightly shorter but hey ho!

Without our Animal Aid supporters none of this is possible and its never ending so please keep supporting our events  ;)  :)

That's amazing news !, Serkan is a true HERO, we had the privilege of meeting him just before we came home early October, his commitment and compassion to the animals in his care is undeniable, we saw Patrick the day after he was shot and is such a beautiful dog, it broke our hearts; but he was showing great courage even then, so let's hope and pray he makes a good a recovery as is possible, I just wish we lived there full time to help care for him  :(  :).
