Ukip couple have children removed from care

I just wonder what other criteria this Council set for foster parents. Do they for example allow gay couples to be foster parents.

I worked for Social Services in the distant past, and must say that nothing surprises me where social workers are involved. : :)

Unfortunately I have to agree with sadler regarding social workers,in my dealings with them while working with disadvantaged children.

I was appalled when I heard this this morning, the worst of it being that 3 young children who presumably already come from broken/disadvantaged homes are once again used as pawns by people who think they know best.

Would it have made any difference if the foster parents were members of the Labour Party?  And if not, why not?!

Ridiculous!  UKIP have every right to demand an investigation.  The needs of the children first and foremost? - I think not in this case.
They have probably done UKIP a favour as they will have a greater opportunity to publicise and clarify their policies  - not a bad thing for the Party but an horrendous situation for experienced foster-carers and the children.

Agree with Sadler on this one.I too worked for Social Services....in Scotland........and the changes in childcare being put through were,to me appauling.I decided to retire early from my position because of them.My department was going from a caring nurturing one to one that removed children from their homes on the simplest of misdemeanours.Once removed, these families had such a struggle to regain the care of their children and the children suffered from being removed from loving and caring homes.

What happened to the Children's Act that was designed to put the best interest of child first.

I do wonder if there is more to this than meets the eye! Most people don't join political parties and if you ask me, at the risk of being controversial all parties, as are most people inherently racist which would make just about everybody unsuitable as foster parents.

However I thought it was interesting that having joined the UKIP the foster parents claimed in one article I read to be unaware of that parties views on immigration etc.

That said if the Social Worker is anything like Lola's (Eastenders) then she needs a good hard slap!
