Sad Death of The Sausage King Reported
« on: January 26, 2013, 16:37:44 PM »
Known to many CBF members, it appears that Greg the Sausage King has been found dead. His mother apparently posted on Facebook to confirm earlier.

Very sad, I only met him once and he seemed a really nice fella.

If I am repeating a cruel hoax I apologise from the bottom of my heart in advance, but at this time it sadly does appear to be the case :(

I wish it was a hoax. This is very sad and upsetting news. I saw on his FB wall he was planning to leave Bulgaria and Turkey to travel and was planning to close his FB account in the next couple of days!

I feel very sorry for his family and friends. My condolences to them.

It appears that it's true. It's also been posted on another forum by a close friend of the family.

A sad day indeed. Met him a few times and he was a thoroughly nice lad.

Pete and I were really shocked and saddened to see this post.  Greg was a great guy who really helped us lots when we used to organise Calis Carnival.  We will never, ever forget the night of the Carnival masked ball at the Aymes Hotel when he cooked a 5 course English and Turkish banquet for 150 people  against all the odds ( and I mean all odds as the problems encountered behind the scenes made Fawlty Towers look like great place to stay).  He also used to run a BBQ for us when we first started car boots (the only person allowed to do this by the zabita as he was licenced) and because he was generously donating half of his  takings to the carnival funds.

He was a real fun guy and a great chef. The last we were aware he was working at the British Embassy in Ankara but we had since lost touch.

Our thoughts are with his family at this sad time.

My family and I lived in Ankara before we moved to Fethiye, and he was quite a fixture of all the expats lives there. A post mortem has been done and cause of death has been given as asphyxia. RIP Greg.

Very sad indeed, and still a young man.  He was an interesting guy, he would tale the tale of his ancestry (why not believe him?) his name Greg Blood his Ancestor  Colonel Thomas Blood, He was the one who attempted to steal the Crown Jewels 1671.  RIP Greg
