Bearing in mind that Angela and I walked from Uzumlu to Gunlukbasi 3 weeks ago,
Calis to Katranci beach should be a doddle - a perfect workout before an afternoon on the beach  ;D
Can't think why I am still 17 stone (might have something to do with the beer intake   ;) )

I quite fancy the Uzulmu to Gunlukbasi walk too (as opposed to the Gunlukbasi to Uzumlu walk...  :D).

Must admit the only thing that has made me question it, was whether it would be safe given how bendy the road is for oncoming drivers.

We prefer to face the oncoming traffic where possible   ;)
Even following the road route its beautiful scenery all the way.

we stayed on the right side as you come down so we were looking down into the ravine, and we were fine. Stunning scenery as ever, but I am always taken aback by the amount of flytipping, incredible!
The  funny thing is the no of times we were offered lifts, and these lovely turkish folk shaking their heads in bewilderment at these mad Brits walking in 36c. We stopped for Kofte lunch in Catalarik, gorgeous day!!

Yes the fly tipping is super irritating.

But how lovely to be offered lifts - Omer, who was taking me and my Mum around for property viewings, asked if we minded if he offered a lift to a chap walking down from Uzumlu. This German chap also declined the offer, saying he was enjoying the air. It was the hottest day of the week at 38C, so I knew what he meant!

Yep, going to dolmus it up to Uzumlu, show it to my husband and then walk our way back down. Cheers for the idea, Angela and Kev.

I tell you what, when we caught the bus up, when you get off by the mosque there is a lovely cafe (the Lup Lup) we treated ourselves to egg on toast for brekkie, and superb coffee, a lovely place to sit, and the Turkish lady who runs it loves a chat.
