Good luck everyone
« on: December 06, 2013, 20:37:42 PM »
This will be the first Calis Christmas Fair that I have missed for 5 years.. I have taken a peak at The minutes of the meeting which gives a list of works done and works still to do... "Chrissie likes her lists ;D.  The work involved both on the day and to organise it all is huge. I want to give a special mention to Turkish Jan who does amazing amounts of admin work along with Chrissie..  Good luck all The Committee and helpers.. I see that the weather forecast is good.. Hope everyone has a brilliant, brilliant time.... love to you all... Peter and Rimms. keep off the mulled wine.  ;)  ;)

That's so weird mercury I was just about to post the very same thing.

It really is amazing the work that goes into this event.

Good luck indeed for Sunday - I am sure it's going to be a huge success even without their favourite Rottweiler

Thanks guys and yes it is a great deal of hard work to organise, particularly as this year is the biggest fair ever with 200 stalls - Lincoln Christmas Market which is one of the biggest in UK only has 250 stalls so we are catching up fast!

Jan has done an amazing job putting together the plan - think she is now on her 12th version!  Jan, Kevin and Nalan spent most of today ringing around all of the stallholders to advise them of their stall location and what time to arrive - and of course you can never please everyone.  The whole thing is a logistical nightmare.

Tomorrow we are all down on the prom from 10.00 am sorting out the tarpaulins and tables, putting up bunting, signage and goodness know what else!  Then santa and his friends are off around Fethiye area in the afternoon - so watch out for them in their decorated sleigh (thanks to Cem at Aydin Pide for this).

Come Sunday, we hope the sun shines and everyone has a really lovely day.  This year Santas grotto and all of the 3C's stalls will be located at Azure Properties (next to the Nil Bar).  As well as lots of lovely items for sale, a massive tombola and a Bumper Christmas Raffle with 9 great prizes including a festive English hamper, the 3C's will be launching our new range of merchandise which will make great presents.  We will  also have our famous mulled wine and great cakes and sausage rolls.

Also we now have it confirmed that the Fethiye Municipality Band will be coming to perform at the fair in front of the Sunset Terrace at 12 noon, in the run up to Santas arrival at 1.00.

Same you can't be with us H and Anne, but thanks for your best wishes and support   :)

Well after a 10 hour sesssion on the prom setting up for tomorrows fair we are just about there, despite really heavy rain first thing and a big squall late afternoon which held things up.  At least Santa and his entourange managed to drive around Fethiye this afternoon in sunshine.  The last of our tired band fell into the Nil this evening where the lovely Angel provided us wih hot soup, chips and garlic bread - thanks Angel.

We are all back again at 7.30 am  to finish off and then start setting up.

The weather tomorrow is looking good, sunshine all day but a bit breezy so wrap up warm.

We now have 207 stalls - a record number - and we hope everyone does really well.  Here's to a good day (and sunshine please  8))
