Taken me a while to get round to this but here goes!
Had a wonderful holiday in Calis from 27/06 - 12/07, staying in a nice quiet area not far from the Tugay hotel very close to the new Cancag Buffe minimarket. As we have a 1-year old daughter we did not get out and about much in the day time, however lazing around on sun loungers is all we really want to do on holiday anyway! Went into Calis each evening and found the quality of food on offer in ALL of the restaurants we tried to be excellent, better than I remember from our previous visit two years ago. Our favourites were George's and Casa Di Mama.
Also ventured over to Fethiye on the boats a few times, Pasa Kebap was superb usual and we tried Mozaik Bahce for the first time which was also excellent, the staff were superb even bringing out a little box of toys to keep our daughter entertained. Had an eventful trip back one night when the boat got stuck just outside the channel that leads up to Calis, the captain had to ask all passengers to move to the front of the boat to get us moving again! Something to look back on and laugh about now even though it was slightly concerning at the time!
Many thanks to the various CBF members who helped out with queries before we departed, particularly on the Dolmus routes and also for recommending the beautiful Ada restaurant which we tried - food was great although if you order steak order it well done, I asked for mine medium-rare but think it still had a pulse when it arrived!
We went to Hamsi Bar quite a few times and enjoyed chatting to the friendly and generous staff, particularly Yelcin (hope I have spelt that right) who's wife was due to give birth to their daughter within a few weeks, they have chosen the Turkish version of our Daughter's name. I would love to hear how they are doing if anyone knows.
