iştah açıcı translates back on Google as 'appetising'. Probably because it's the American spelling of the noun savoury.

I doubt very much that you'll find the herb savory in the markets though. It might be worthwhile trying one of the spice stalls in the fruit and veg market.

Is it for a recipe? Could it be that they mean Umami ?

I went to the spice market and told her that I wanted to mix a Herbs De Provence, I got everything else but when I said Savory, she didn't know what I meant and it was not in her dictionary.
What is Umami, do you think it would work with Herbs De Provence ?

savory is a herb.

Umami is not, unfortunately.

/uːˈmɑːmi/

noun: umami

a category of taste in food (besides sweet, sour, salt, and bitter), corresponding to the flavour of glutamates, especially monosodium glutamate.

Yes, I know savory is a herb. It's related to rosemary and thyme.
