That Damn Man
« on: October 12, 2015, 15:42:56 PM »
I've been up in the Cotswolds meeting my brother and wife. We stayed in a nice pub, more of an eating place, in Bledington. We arrived too early to book in, as I intended, so spent a pleasant time drinking a couple at the bar - all the tables being laid for Sunday lunchtime meals. When we were ready to check in the manager said "I'll be with you in a minute" and promptly disappeared.

When he finally returned he apologized and said he had to sort out a slight flap in the kitchen. "The Prime Minister is in the bar and ordered something we don't have on the menu. Anyway, it's all sorted now". Bloody Cameron, mucking about with my Sunday lunchtime.

You didn't respond with "...and don't you know who I am?"

No, I was incognito, my brother having booked the rooms.

It's OK. Hilary has found a way of  wiping out our trauma of sharing a pub with that Cameron fella. She's booked us in for a central Bristol rally and Q&A with Jeremy Corbyn. Apparently he is going to talk about the latest bit of clever politics that the Tories have learned from Erdogan - wiping a million people off the electoral register before the next round of elections. Looking forward to it.

Great disappointment.
Despite having applied for tickets to the Corbyn rally within three hours of it being announced we were too late. Apparently it was massively oversubscribed and lots of people have been turned away. And this on a weekday lunchtime. It seems it happens all over the country whenever he speaks. Shouldn't be surprised I suppose; he's a breath of fresh air in Britain's stodgy politics and people flock to his events.
