Quiet Start to Forum too...

over the years this forum seems to light up with posts in May but it, like the resort itself apparently, is off to a slow start this year. Possible indicator that UK residents really are looking elsewhere perhaps? We're still coming in a couple of weeks though and again with more of the family in August; just wondering how the businesses there will react to reduced tourist numbers. Look after them better or maximise the profit...time will tell.
A bigger worry to me is what's happening politically out there and between Turkey & the EU. The politicians slug it out, the little people like us just hope that we can continue enjoying holidaying there year after year. First visit 20 years ago...

Yes the stats show the forum is quiet for May - we are quieter all over as Facebook takes over the World and erodes our contributions/content, but the influx of people who sign up to ask about their first holiday to Calis and similar topics has happened but to an extremely low degree. This suggests not too many people will be choosing 2016 for their first Turkey holiday.

We'll plod on, much of our traffic comes from search engines - our content is years deep and all available, while FB information is lost within days so the same questions are asked every few days.

I am new to this forum but read every day to try to understand life in Turkey better. I visit Turkey because I want to. It appears to me that reality is lost. The choice of holiday is now vast due to the Internet and at times Turkey is not the cheapest option for a family. Try flying from Newcastle and see the price soar. Many posts seem to complain about the cost of going out for a meal. Are you on holiday or live there. If living there surely going for a meal is occasional. I work in a country that brews EFes on licence  and it is 5 pound a pint. An EPI is a joke, people on holiday will be happy at 12 Tl a pint and think they get a bargain. Rant over, sit back and relax in the sunshine.

The EPI is exactly that David, a joke - it has never existed and is regularly mentioned just for fun.
