Hi Sue,
Your very good friend here, why dont you let every one know how you manage to spend 6 months in Turkey and 6 months in UK. I am sure everybody will be interested to know how you manage to do it finacially. As a lot of people on here are thinking of ways of getting out to Turkey either full or part time.

Thanks Norma, well I decided to move to Turkey when I took redundancy about 6 yrs ago but after getting my place and enjoying my life for a couple of years,realized I could not live without earning, so started to return to the u.k.at end of October and was very lucky to get took on at Boots manufacturing near my home in notts,now all I do is email them of my flight arrival and normally start work the day after, or as in the case of this year straight from the airport. I earn enough to fund my life in the sun,only now after 6 years have decided to sell up here,realized that's what I want to do.But will still continue to work during the winter,the more I work the better my life will be out in Turkey.I'm probably one of the lucky ones,lots of my friends have to return to the u.k. and look for work,I'm welcomed back and work with people I know and like.Also have got a superb daughter that I stay with in Notts so have no bills of any kind,the only downside is everyone has to put up with me going on and on about Turkey,but that problem doesnt happen now at work since my boss bought an apartment in Fethiye.We actually practice our Turkish when we work.So will take this opportunity to say a BIG thankyou to Norma x x x x

Hi I am so impressed!! Lots of us on here would probably like to take the bull by the horns and do something similar, which whould give you the best of both worlds. I have been tempted but am caught in the good conditions and pension trap and keep waiting for the right time. Sue, you lucky devil - there really are only a handful of people who can say they are truely happy with their lot.  You clearly are one of them.  Good for you and may your luck always contiue.

Perhaps this is the way forward job share for 6 months at a time.  Anyone want to work in Shropshire and Staffordshire for 6 months for AstraZeneca?

Hi Diane, I have done medical trials for astra zeneca in Notts, but they stopped using female volunteers,but I register for trials now with Pharmacutical profiles, the money is o.k. and if you got a good boss who lets you take time off you can earn holiday money that way.Sue

Hi Mary, sorry as of now I still live in Bodrum,I have a lovely apartment with a (guzel manzara)beautiful view of the sea, but maybe next year might be moving, but am looking for an old house/apartment  outside of Fethiye,maybe Ortaga or Gocek.
