Saying Hello
« on: November 22, 2006, 20:30:07 PM »
Hi
Just to introduce myself after being invited here by my friend Janet  :)

I live in Leigh, Lancashire with my partner Debbie. I have visited Turkey on six occasions staying in Ovacik and Cesme. I love the country and the people. We have decided to invest in property in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and this is the reason Janet told me about your great site a it would be an ideal source of information.

We usually stay at the Seabreeze in Ovacik if we can get in, the staff there are great and have nicknamed me Degerli, which I am told means madman! If it doesn't can someone please let me know before I return and they start shouting it through the bar again.

Hope to see you all around the forums.
Mark

Hi Mark
Welcome to the forum.
Can I ask why you decided on Cyprus when you love Turkey so much?

Hi Mark,
welcome to the forum. We have had several great holidays in Northern Cyprus around Kyrenia region. Good luck with your investment, is it a new build ?

Property in TRNC is much cheaper at the moment. You can pick up a 2 bed apartment for under £30,000. I wasn't in a position to make the plunge in Ovacik 5 years ago when I would have liked to and am anticipating a similar rise in prices in TRNC in the next 5 years.
Our "Master Plan" is to sell up here in 5 years and emigrate so you'll see me around the forums asking about employment opportunities as well.
For information I am a local government officer dealing with moving people into employment and Debbie is a Teacher/Trainer/NVQ Verifier and assessor.

Hi and a warm welcome to the Forum.  Degerli means valuable or  talented. The g is almost silent so it sounds like dayerli And deli which sounds like Dayli is madman. :)

Hi Mark,

Contrary to previous answers, "Degerli" means 'put all these people's drinks on my bill tonight'

Let me know when you are next in town  ;)

Enjoy the forums
