Actually, I didn't know what to say and I have never used a Forum before. I am moving to Çalis from Fethiye. I have lived in Turkey for 7 years. I speak Turkish. And I find your reply very rude and judgemental. In the spirit of the Forum I said 'Hello'. I didn't realise there was a 'normal' format. So sorry

Scottie
Welcome - at first glance it just looked like you wanted to advertise something. It was a little bit rude to jump in with an advert without posting anything hence my reply - which I will now delete. Many people have had their advert removed immediately when trying the same. Thought we had yet another 'one of those!'
In the true spirit of the forum I hope you enjoy your time here & will join in as it's always nice when we get someone new especially when they have lived in Turkey as long as you.
Linda

Hi and welcome to the Forum.  Try not to get off on the wrong foot this is a good and very helpful Forum. A quick look in the intro section would have given you an idea of the "Normal" Which you have now done. :)

'Get off on the right foot'? I only said 'Hello'! Wot a palava.
If I had anything more to say by way of introduction I would have said it. I did not intend to be rude. However, I have now received one very rude and antagonistic response (which is against Forum rules) and one very condescending one.
Shall I just leave?

Oh dear, Oh dear!
Well at least we know now your continental quilt for sale is in Turkey not England - which was something no-one knew before. I had no intention to sound very rude or judgemental I just asked if you had any interest at all in Calis. A reasonable question I think when your 1st post was just an advert for an item & your 2nd post was just 'Hello'.
If I was being rude, antagonistic or condescending then I didn't mean to be.
I won't apologise any further or read this thread again. Unfortunately although I've been a member here for 3 years I've never read the forum rules. I expect to be banned at any moment.

Hello Puma, that's more like it! It took me at least five years to get a hold of Turkish Not easy at all. All my neighbours are Turkish and I used to have a business here. So that helps. If I could hear what I was actually saying I would probably die. But you've got to do it.

Thanks for the warm welcome. Was beginning to think I had logged on to Big Brother. But I see from reading some folks' input that there are people out there who don't take themselves too seriously.

Congratulations on learning Turkish, my husband has been trying and seems to be getting on quite well, but its beyond me at the moment !  I hope as we spend more time in Turkey that I can pick up more.
