Hello...I am new!

Hi everyone and thank you all for your warm welcomes.
Will be checking out the forum regularly, prior to my usual visit to Turkey. Have to say, I have read some of the forums regarding Hisaronu and how tacky it has become. We went last year, in May. It was a bit louder than previous year, but all locals still as friendly, chatting to kids etc. We actually stayed in Ovacik, but found it a bit out of the way and the hotel was as pricey as the priciest bars in hisaronu. So didn't really win by staying in ovacik. Went to Fethiye for a night out, but got lost to be quite honest. We just ended up in a bar/restaurant on harbour front which was ok but nothing grand. Would love to have lots of info about fethiye because I would love to visit it again this year..maybe a map would be helpful. If anyone has any pics of orka new village in hisaronu I would be eternally grateful. Dying to know how the progress has gone on there so far.
Anyway, hello and thanks again. This is a brilliant forum and everyone obviously has in the main a great love and respect for Turkey and its people.

Hello again Deborah.I managed to get a map of Fethiye City from a bookshop in Glasgow. As this was a few years ago,I am not certain which one it was.It could have been Borders.Perhaps a web search might help?Sorry I can't be more specific.Good luck.
Alec.

Hi and welcome. Fethiye is fab.  Just keep visiting and you will soon get to know your way around and the best places to eat and drink. Saying that, I have been going there for the past 16 years and only discovered the wonderful fish market and restaurants last October!!! Im sure you will get so much info and advice from this forum but just get out there and experience it for yourself!!

Hi, we have actually bought one of the villas and have some pictures but they are over a month old.  However we should be getting new photos within the next couple of weeks but as far as we can tell the complex is coming on very well indeed.  They are still expecting this to be completed by May and it does look great.  Will happily give you an update when we get it.
