Threads from Bar & Restaurant Owners/Staff

I am thinking deeply (no honest) about this subject. Since day 1, using the CBF as a free tool for publicity has been frowned upon (in the early days it was mainly estate agents who had no shame posting self-promoting adverts.

Recent threads started by bars and restaurants (Bus Stop, new kebab restaurant etc) are difficult to administer as explaining the difference between information (CBF is primarily an information website) and chat is difficult.

I am aware that there is also a thin line between keeping in touch and blatant advertising.

Some of our most colourful locals are working in bars etc (obviously) and it is always good to hear who is where and what they are up to.

What I propose is to allow just bar and restaurant staff to use the CBF to keep in touch with us all, with full responsibility falling on all CBF members not to turn it into a long boring chat thread.

That is the proposal, any thoughts?

I think that would work well if they post to keep everybody else informed of changes, new staff etc. Anything to do with the bar and if any CBF membrs want to chat with them they can email them through their profiles. Or even on the Calis beach chatroom.
Saves everybody having to read the same threads all of the time.

I agree it`s a fairly good idea (only "fairly" because it wasn`t mine :D ), though I propose that if a thread on any establishment turns into a chatroom, then said thread be deleted, and that bar/restaurant be shown a yellow card, then banned from further paticipation if it happens again.

Hi Guys
If bar staff and owners want to keep in touch with there customers and vice verca, why not set up a regular time in the chatroom to meet e.g Bus stop Monday at 6pm.That way people people will have a regular contact and maybe get to know each other a bit better.

Regards

Maybe it's cos i'm older, but i don't think it is really needed, considering how many members write about scarlett bar and bus stop, there's not many members of bus stop & scarlett forum, if they want to chat then just give each other their e-mail addresses, when i was in England if Mustafa from scarlett wanted a chat he always shouted me while he was offline,he has that many that have his address i think he talks to who he wants when he has the time, which is even less now he has a baby, as i said maybe it's cos i'm old.
