I'm aware that this is a difficult one to call but I think Scunner's intetions are pretty clear below.
As I have said on numerous occasions now - there are no problems with letting members know what is going on and who is where etc UNLESS it crosses the line into CHAT or BLATANT ADVERTISING.
Scunner's intentions for that section was:
to allow just bar and restaurant staff to use the CBF to keep in touch with us all, with full responsibility falling on all CBF members not to turn it into a long boring chat thread.
Sorry if some are upset at me locking the topic but as I have said - no problems with anyone opening an information topic about their bar or restaurant - as long as thet stick to the rules.
Just start another thread if you want but stick within the guidlines.

I am thinking deeply (no honest) about this subject. Since day 1, using the CBF as a free tool for publicity has been frowned upon (in the early days it was mainly estate agents who had no shame posting self-promoting adverts.
Recent threads started by bars and restaurants (Bus Stop, new kebab restaurant etc) are difficult to administer as explaining the difference between information (CBF is primarily an information website) and chat is difficult.
I am aware that there is also a thin line between keeping in touch and blatant advertising.
Some of our most colourful locals are working in bars etc (obviously) and it is always good to hear who is where and what they are up to.
What I propose is to allow just bar and restaurant staff to use the CBF to keep in touch with us all, with full responsibility falling on all CBF members not to turn it into a long boring chat thread.
That is the proposal, any thoughts?
